A man is in jail Monday morning after shooting at his daughter's stepfather, instigating a standoff with police.
Pueblo police surrounded the home on the 1800 block of W. 11th late Sunday night, trying to contact the suspect and his young daughter, who was inside with him during most of the ordeal. The standoff eventually ended peacefully.
According to police, the incident began when the stepfather of the suspect's 7-year-old daughter dropped her off at the suspect's home. When the stepfather got back into his car, the suspect allegedly shot at him, then barricaded himself inside the home.
Prior to the suspect turning himself in, his daughter's mother was able to convince the little girl to come out of the house. The suspect eventually surrendered.
No one was injured.
