A Southern Colorado hospital is receiving top honors for their treatment of cancer patients.
The Dorcy Cancer Center at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in Pueblo is selected for the National Innovator award for their team approach in treating patients with head and neck cancer. The award recognizes forward thinking that helps treat, identify and improve the lives of cancer patients. Hospital officials say they are proud to receive this recognition.
“It speaks really to the team that brought this program together and their commitment and dedication to making sure that our patients that have that head and neck cancer gets absolutely the best treatment and the best care available,” Director of St. Mary-Corwin Communications, Rochelle Kelly Devargas said.
Only eight cancer programs nationwide were selected for this award. The Dorcy cancer center is the only one in Colorado to receive this award.
