A warning if any of you have received a text claiming to be from Wells Fargo recently.

Pueblo police say they have received many calls from people who have received a text notification from Wells Fargo with a 719 area code to call. Police say that when callers try the number, they are asked to provide their Social Security number and a 16-digit account number.

This is a scam. Police say the Federal Trade Commission was alerted and has since blocked the number.

Police remind residents to never give out personal information after receiving a call; any company you have an account with should have that information handy. If they don't, that should be a warning sign.
