A SWAT team was called to a home in Pueblo West Saturday afternoon.
It happened around 1:00 p.m. on the 600 block of Sweetwater Drive.
Police say they responded to the home in response to a suicidal person. When they arrived, they say a 61-year-old man opened the door, pointed a gun at himself and then shut the door.
SWAT was called and they surrounded the home. They say they tried to make contact with the man for two hours before entering the home.
SWAT officers say they could see the man through a window, groaning and lying on a bed with the gun still in his hand.
When officers entered the home, they say the man refused to put the gun down so they used less-lethal rounds and a Tazer to subdue him.
The suspect was taken to the hospital to be treated for a suspected overdose.
