A court appearance for a teacher accused of having inappropriate relationships with students was postponed Monday morning.
Former Goal Academy teacher Susan Christie is accused of having inappropriate relationships with three students. Goal Academy is an online school generally for high school students who have trouble in a formal school setting.
A mandatory restraining order was also issued against her. It prevents her from seeing a victim who spoke out in the affidavit.
After allegations emerged, Pueblo police searched through school computers and cell phones to make sure there were no more students reportedly victimized by Christie.
According to her arrest affidavit, investigators believe she had a sexual relationship with one student. She also was “sexting” other students on her school issued cell phone and would use her school issued computer to have sexual conversations with students via Skype. Hundreds of text messages were sent to one male student that goal officials called “very racy and sexually explicit.” Another student told police she was the “creepy pedophile type.”
Christie was arrested late last year for sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. She was later released on a $50,000 bond.
We'll let you know when the court appearance is rescheduled.
