Pueblo County DA Won't Press Charges Against 'Dougherty Gang'

The three Dougherty siblings will not face charges in Pueblo County, the District Attorney said in court Monday. The so-called “Dougherty Gang” will instead face the charges in Huerfano County.

Ryan, Dylan and Lee Grace Dougherty didn’t appear in court Monday, due to the minor nature of the proceeding and security concerns.

The trio is currently being held in Pueblo County's jail on charges including assault on a peace officer and attempted murder. They're scheduled for a preliminary hearing September 20 in Huerfano County. Prosecutors will then lay out the evidence they have against them.

Charges were originally filed against the siblings in both counties because they were caught near Walsenburg after a high-speed chase that began in Pueblo County.

Can we get on with more current news? I'm getting real tired of all the publicity you media guru's are giving these idiots. Old news!!! Find something else to report on that we might give a rats A-- about!

Maybe the criminals will get convicted of their crimes in Huerfano County! The DA in Pueblo has no interest in trying a case where the victim is a law enforcement officer. The only reason the DA tried the Pruce case here, they couldn't pawn it off on someone else. But, make no mistake about it, if these three were law enforcement, the Pueblo DA would charge them with whatever they could! This is the sorriest DA's office in the entire state! Excellent work CSP, Huerfano County SO and Walsenburg PD!

@anon - Couldn't agree more. Kirk (9-5) Taylor and his cronies hide behind their desks and take credit for our real officers out on the streets and in the jail. Understaffed, overworked........who cares as long as he makes it to happy hour at the end of the day. As big as Pueblo is, we all know what is going on - this IS Pueblo - can't spit without everyone knowing. And, yes, we are ALL WATCHING.

Taylor didn't have anything on the Doughtery Gang he just wanted credit for the bust. Good Job Sheriff Newman and Chief Chamberlain both of Walsenburg.

I just wanted to comment on what the reporter had said. The Mother bear was not angry, she was mournful of the loss of her baby, animals greive in much the same way that humans do. How sad that she lost her child.
