The Pueblo Chamber of Commerce honored its "Citizen of the Year" Thursday night.
This year the award was presented to Dr. Adolph “Rudy” Padula.
According to Chamber, Dr. Padula is being honored for his philanthropy giving specifically for being the founding donor of the Center for American Values which has brought national acclaim to Pueblo.
The Chamber's statement says "Dr. Padula practiced dentistry in Pueblo for over 37 years.
"In 2001 he became a partner in a private company that developed dental clinics throughout the United States. He took a brief retirement in 2006 after the sale of the company. Shortly after Padula pursued real estate development. Padula purchased and renovated The Waterfront, a historic building located on the Riverwalk.
"The Pueblo Community has tremendously benefited from Rudy’s real estate development talents and he has become an exceptionally appreciated philanthropist, who has given abundantly to many non-profits including being the first founding donor for The Center for American Values which is housed in the Waterfront building."
