In response to a rise in calls and shortage of officers, the Pueblo Police Department has made changes to their patrol staffing.

Beginning on Sunday, June 2, seven officers were reassigned, temporarily, from their current positions back to patrol officers. Officers have been moved from other areas including traffic, Criminal Information Section (CIS), property crimes, ATF Task Force and the DEA Task Force.

The officers will now assist patrol. The move was made, according to Pueblo Police, for the high-volume period that starts in May and runs through the beginning of September.
