Pueblo police say two brothers have been arrested in a shooting that happened in the early morning hours of Dec. 7.
They say it was at 1:39 a.m. that they got a call of shots fired in the 100 block of West B St. They found 28-year-old Eugene Roy lying in the street with a gunshot wound.
Witnesses say they saw a black truck with a tool box in the back leave the scene. Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office deputies found a vehicle matching that description and took two men into custody, but they were later released.
Over the next next several days, detectives continued to interview witnesses and gather information. On Dec. 13, police say there was enough evidence to arrest the two men previously released. They have been identified as 32-year-old Cesario Vigil and 29-year-old Claude Vigil.
The brothers were taken to the Pueblo County Jail on attempted second-degree murder warrants, and are being held on $100,000 bonds.
The victim is still recovering in a Pueblo hospital.
