Pueblo police arrested a burglar with a loaded firearm on March 24, according to reports issued Wednesday.
Police say on March 24 at 2:30 in the afternoon officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Caledonia Road in reference to a "suspicious" man who "appeared to be casing a house."
When officers arrived they say they saw a man in the backyard exiting an attached garage through the back door, carrying a small red trash can. The man told officers he was there with his friend "Bubba" and made a comment about the trash can.
When police asked the man for identification, he reportedly attempted to run away. At that time, police arrested the man. During his arrest, police say a loaded handgun fell from the man's waistband.
The man was charged with first-degree burglary, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest.
Police have not released the man's name.
