Pueblo City Council is contemplating extending a moratorium on recreational pot through the end of this year.
The moratorium on processing permits for marijuana shops was approved last May, and expires this month. The moratorium was intended to give City Council time to see how other cities in Colorado dealt with the issue of newly-legal pot.
City Council did amend the Pueblo municipal code last year to reflect the new state marijuana law, which allows possession and use of marijuana for those 21 and up.
Monday, City Council considered an ordinance that would delay the discussion about recreational pot until Dec. 31. In two weeks, the council will hear what voters think, and then take a vote.
