Two homemade explosive devices, including one resembling a land mine, have been removed from a home in Pueblo West.

According to authorities, the explosives were removed from the home of Anthony Heptig, who was arrested Tuesday night. Law enforcement uncovered the two explosive devices when searching Heptig's home on the 300 block of Karval Drive Wednesday.

Four nearby homes were evacuated during the investigation, while students at Liberty Point Elementary School were put on "sheltered in place" status.

Besides the device resembling a land mine, investigators describe the second device as similar to a stick of dynamite.
