More than 800 Pueblo West residents and several schools suddenly lost power Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at 11:45 on the South side of Highway 50. The San Isabel Electric Association provides power in that area. 11 News spoke with Ashley Valdez with San Isabel Electric and asked her what caused the outage she stated that “A utility line from a different utility company accidentally crossed into ours.”
The outage knocked out power at Cedar Ridge Elementary, Pueblo West High School, Sky View Middle School and Siera Vista Elementary. 11 News was told that many of the schools were in the middle of serving lunch at the time. Power was restored in the area in about an hour.
