Police now have a suspect in their investigation into a double shooting Sunday that sent two men to the hospital.
Police have requested that an arrest warrant be put out for Johnny C. Maez, 29. Police believe he is the person who shot both men and are looking to arrest him for 2nd degree assault.
The victims are Angelo Ulloa,24, and Raymond Trujillo, 29, both of Pueblo.
Sgt. Eric Bravo with the Pueblo Police Department says investigators believe Ulloa loaned money to his sister and as collateral she gave Ulloa her car until she paid back the debt. Officials say the sister and her boyfriend, Maez, went over to Ulloa’s house on Sunday to get the car back. After an argument ensued, Maez shot both Ulloa and Trujillo, and then drove away.
Sgt. Bravo says the shooting happened early Sunday morning in the 3000 block of Thatcher Ave. He says both were taken to the hospital, one with an injury to the leg, the other to the arm. He says they have since been released.
The investigation into the shooting continues.
