A surveillance camera captured an image of a kidnapping suspect accused of chasing a woman down and wrestling her into an SUV.

According to Pueblo Police, the kidnapping occurred on June 6. Witnesses reported that a female was walking in the 2200 block of Lake Avenue when an SUV stopped abruptly and a man got out. The victim ran, but the male chased her and eventually caught her at the southeast corner of Highland and Lake Avenue.

The struggle there was described as violent. The SUV pulled up to the corner and the suspect wrestled the victim into the vehicle before it drove away.

The SUV was described as a late-model, possibly maroon-colored Toyota.

According to the narrative from a publicly available police report, witnesses also told an officer that a second car may have been cooperating in the kidnapping. The witnesses said they heard the kidnapping suspect shout to the driver of a red Chevrolet sedan. He said, "...we got her and she's the one that got your weed!"

The victim is described as an 18 to 20 year old black female with a light complexion wearing a dark colored shirt and jeans. Officers found a female wig and a woman’s right shoe on the south sidewalk of Highland.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male with short dark hair, wearing a green shirt, blue jeans and gloves.

Pueblo Police ask that anyone with information please call Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP.
