Police Looking For Suspect In Attempted Kidnapping

A man tried to pull a woman into his minivan, and hit her when the woman tried to get away.

Police say the suspect left the area after assaulting the victim, and the woman was able to call 911.

The incident happened just after midnight Wednesday at the IHOP on 2015 S. Pueblo Blvd. in Pueblo.

According to the 38-year-old victim, she was walking from Red Creek Springs Road to the IHOP when a white minivan pulled up next to her. A man inside asked her if she needed a ride; she said no and kept walking. The van left.

When she refused, the victim said that the man grabbed her coat and tried to drag her into the van. She struggled to get away and fell. She told police the suspect "socked" her in the face, then drove off and left her behind.

Police searched the area, but were unable to find the minivan.
