Over $5,000 in Instruments Donated to High School Band Program

A big donation is helping to keep music alive in one Southern Colorado high school. More than five thousand dollars in instruments will be given to the orchestra program at Centennial High school in Pueblo. The school just found out they're the recipients of a grant provided by Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. That program helps provide under-funded schools across the country with the best quality of instruments. Centennial High School will be receiving several violins, violas, cellos and bases.

“It’s a big breath of relief to know that all the kids that are coming in will have instruments to play, and our orchestra has doubled in size due to these grants,” said Centennial High School Band Director, Jason Emory.

Centennial high school will be receiving the instruments before school starts this fall.
