Pueblo City Council voted Monday night to approve new rules on recreational marijuana and e-cigarettes.

If recreational marijuana is approved in Pueblo, it will only be allowed to be grown or manufactured in the business park and certain industrial districts. Facilities cannot be built within 1,000 feet of any school.

Last month, City Council decided to hold off on the grow, testing and manufacturing until June 30. The ordinance does not address retail pot shops, which the council plans to revisit in the fall.

City Council also approved an ordinance that makes it illegal for minors to use electronic cigarettes or go inside tobacco retail stores, hookah bars or lounges.

It changes the current law that defines tobacco products as any substance containing a tobacco leaf, to now include nicotine vaporizers like e-cigarettes.
