The pursuit of a motorcycle that began on northbound I-25 ended with a fatal crash in Pueblo West.
According to state patrol, the motorcyclist was recorded as going more than 100 miles per hour on the interstate near mile marker 144. He failed to stop when a trooper tried to pull him over.
The rider crossed over into southbound I-25 and exited at North Purcell Boulevard.
State Patrol followed the rider at a distance and with aircraft as he exited the interstate and rode into Pueblo West on side streets.
The motorcyclist tried to pass a 1990 International Dump Truck as the truck was turning left near Mc Culloch Blvd. and E. Industrial Blvd. The 31-year-old rider, identified as Robert Frye, hit the left side of the truck and was killed.
The driver of the dump truck, a 55-year-old, was not injured in the crash.
The Honda Motorcycle was reported stolen to Colorado Spring Police on July 15.
State Patrol reports road closures in the area.
