A southern Colorado man's new murder trail is nearly set to begin. Paul Wayne Stark is suspected of murdering a 14-year-old girl and dumping her body in the field behind his home.
It's been nearly six months since Stark's first trial was declared a mistrial and reset for this week. Stark, was arrested back in March of 2009 when the police found 14-year-old Ashley Patterson's half naked body in the field behind his home.
After more than a year of court hearings, Stark's trial began in July 2010. But because his lead defense attorney had to go out of state, the case was reset.
Wednesday jury selection was in full swing. It took three days to set a jury for Stark's first trial, and Wednesday marked day two of that process this time around.
Sixty-six-year-old Stark is charged with first degree murder, sexual assault on a child, and child abuse resulting in death for the rape and murder of Ashley Patterson.
