Thousands of marijuana plants found during a raid last week were destroyed Wednesday in Pueblo County.
Deputies spent several days bundling the plants, cutting samples from each bundles and taking pictures of all the evidence before it was destroyed. About 60 of the 13,000 plants were kept as core samples, but the others were burned at the Evraz Steel Mill.
It was called "Operation Fly Paper."
The Sheriff's Office called in Black Hawk helicopters and dump trucks to transport the plants from the grow operation near Rye into temporary storage.
Two men were arrested in the raid, while two other men got away. Investigators say the street value of the plants was close to $20 million dollars.
