PUEBLO, Colo. The Pueblo Police Department says a fire at a vacant home appears to be arson.
The fire happened on the 400 block of W. 8th St.
We're told a call came in at 3:14 a.m. Thursday from a resident who said they saw smoke and flames coming from a two-story residential building.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they saw a number of people exiting the building. They said fire was coming out of the second story of the house, and was threatening another home on its right.
A spokesperson with the fire department says the home was reportedly "condemned." There were no reports that people lived there. They said "squatters" may have been inside at the time of the fire.
After police and fire crews collaborated with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, they came to the conclusion the fire appears to be intentional.
Pueblo police are handling the arson investigation.
Firefighters searched the home, but didn't find anyone inside. There were no reported injuries. The fire was out in just a few hours.
