Kenny Lazo, 16, has been arrested as an accessory to a crime, murder in the first degree, for his alleged part in the death of Joshua Abeyta.

An 18-year-old is dead after a shooting in Pueblo Wednesday and police have arrested the man they say killed him. The Pueblo County Coroner says Joshua Abyeta, 18, was killed in the shooting.

Pueblo County deputies say it happened at the Meadowbrook mobile home community in east Pueblo County around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies say when they got there, folks were trying CPR to keep the Abeyta alive.

Abeyta was rushed to the hospital where he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Before the shooting, witnesses say, Abeyta and Lazo had gone outside to fight. It would be the second time the two fought each other recently. During the fight, investigators say, 19-year-old Arien Rivas walked into the situation and gunned down Abeyta.

According to court documents, witnesses say Rivas stood over Abeyta and fired a gun three to four times. After the shooting, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says, witnesses saw Rivas and Lazo leaving the scene of the crime together.

Sheriff's deputies say they've arrested Rivas. He's being held on a $1 million bond for first degree murder.

Deputies say they don't know if the shooting is gang related or not. If you know anything about the crime, you're asked to call the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP.

I can't believe some of the comments left on here. I am disgusted to say that some of these people who are leaving these comments, live in Pueblo? I too agree with Kristian. I pray for you close minded, insensitive, distasteful people who think it is ok to say such a horrible thing. Race, Gang, being a child, being "mexican", or white has absolutely nothing to do with it. I would hope that when I have kids someday that they have more respect for everyone around them than whoever you are "anonymous". If this were you, your family, or your child, this situation would be completely different. I hope you're proud of yourself now. I think people forget how fragile others are. No one deserves to go through what this family is going through and no one deserves to pass the way this boy did. I pray for all of you! This boy will never hurt again and the kid who did this will have to suffer knowing what he did.

It's so sad that some people can sit here and act like this is a good thing because our youth are killing each other off... This kid was 18 years old and had his whole life ahead of him. It's tragic, but race has nothing to do with it. I guess its okay for that white guy to rape and kill that little girl in Pueblo West because he's not a "thug". It's heartbreaking that our community is so divided. A life was taken, what does race or ethnicity have to do with this? If it was your child, that wouldn't matter!! Walk a mile in the shoes of these mothers before you make ignorant comments. I do not know the family or the boy who died, but I cried when I heard about this. Our community should be supportive... Your just pouring salt on a wound. That boy was someone's CHILD, how dare you? If the tables were turned I'm sure your mouth would be shut!! I pray for people like you to open your mind, you live in Pueblo. If you don't like mexicans you are living in the wrong place!!

Its just sad that ignorant people have to make ignorant comments! I could sit here and get upset and throw down some raciest comments but for what I was brought up better than that my family was brought up better than that! This is about my cousin and its just a very sad situation how an altercation can turn deadly and take such a precious life! This could happen to anyone its just scarey how our youth can easly get their hands on firearms. My prayers go out to my entire family and Josh you are in all our hearts and prayers love ya little cuz!

I Highly Doubt This Was Gang Related, I Didnt Know Josh Too Well, BUT He Seemed Like A REALLY Nice Kid. People Get Stupid And Have To Bring Guns Into Situations Like This? Thats Just Sad.To The Family Of Josh, You'll Be In My Thoughts N Prayers. I'm Sorry For Your Loss. This Town Is Messed Up :(
