The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says detectives have arrested 21-year-old Andres Ortiz for a murder and stabbing early this morning in the 1600 block of San Pedro St. in Salt Creek.
During the investigation, it was confirmed that the people involved knew each other and were having a “get together” in which alcohol was involved.
There was some sort of a fight and 27-year-old Juan Martinez was stabbed. He later died at the hospital. A second, unidentified victim is in critical condition as of Tuesday night.
Ortiz was originally taken into custody early this morning on a warrant unrelated to this case. As detectives learned more about the stabbings, Ortiz was arrested on charges of 2nd Degree Murder and Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.
Anyone with more information about the crime, is asked to contact the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (719) 583-6250 or Crime Stoppers (719) 542-STOP.
