Despite high fire danger and a ban on selling consumer fireworks in Pueblo, the City has approved a commercial fireworks display for the 4th of July.
The Fire Department has scheduled a full extra crew to be on duty during the holiday. Fire Chief Christopher Riley says his teams will monitor the commercial display.
The 4th of July fireworks will be accompanied by the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra at the Riverwalk.
In addition to the City of Pueblo’s ban on selling consumer fireworks, Governor John Hickenlooper issued a statewide ban on open burning that includes consumer fireworks. Violators can be ticketed.
