A drug deal gone wrong has led to the death of one teen, and left two other teens in the hospital Friday.

An attempted drug deal Thursday night in Pueblo turned bloody when the suspect robbed his companions, then shot them. Police say the shooter, a 16-year-old male, was arrested Friday morning at a relative's home on the 2800 block of 8th Avenue in Pueblo.

Police have learned from information pieced together off one of the victims' cell phones that the men had met with the suspect to sell him marijuana. The alleged shooter, who had been picked up by the other three, directed the vehicle to a prairie near Buchanan and Outlook, on the north side of Pueblo, west of I-25. While parked in the field, the suspect robbed the three, and then opened fire.

Marco Morales, 18, a passenger in the car, was shot in the head and died from his wounds. The driver of the car, David Lucero, 18, was shot several times as he attempted to run away and seek help. He's in stable condition Friday evening. Isaiah Chacon, 17, remains in critical condition. He also suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say the juvenile shooter will be booked on one count of First Degree Murder and two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.

As a mother, my heart goes out to the moms of all of these boys and the rest of their families. While it's easy to look at the situation and pass judgement, I can't help but think of the things I did as a teen. While not directly involved with the weed, I certainly was around it.Something like this is devasting to family and friends. Selling or buying weed is NOT the problem here, even though it was the means to the end. The child who thought it was the best option to use a gun was the problem here. Hopefully the family and friends and those who survived this will be able to recover physically and emotionally.

Knowing Marco,Isaiah, and David for many years we know they were and still are AMAZING people who did not deserve this . Marco was a close friend to both of us and will be loved and missed for many years . Isaiah is the kind of person who will do anything to make you happy when you are down and always succeeds . David is the type of person that will do anything for his friends (proven) All three were and are incredible people and will be forever looked at in our eyes our heroes. To take a bullet for your friends, to die for your friends, to take 8 bullets and still be breathing, thats the true deffinition of a BOSS and thats exactly what they are and always will be. The creep that did this to them will have whats coming for him, karma isn't very pretty. All three boys will alwyas be rembered for there good and kindness, not for the mistakes they did, NONE of them should be judged for what they did, but looked at as fighters and hereos for what they acomplished in their lives.

I know Marco and Isaiah them boys are GREAT ppl, it's hard to believe that Marco's life was taken by a 16 yr old boy over marijuana. Marco was a sweet and sensitive guy that always had somethin crazy to say to put a smile on ur face or bring out a laugh from anyone around REST IN PEACE MARCO UR IN A BETTER PLACE NOW PLEASE WATCH OVER ALL OF US..Isaiah also is a GREAT person hes the type where he can walk in a room a smile appears on everyones face, the guy where u mention his name and they say "Chacon" I know him. I am so happy to hear that he is stable, he will get better because of everyones faith and prayers and especially because his best friend who's now an angel is by his side helpin him fight. The ppl on here talkin about how they deserve it because of the situation that caused it have no heart at all. Unless u know them personally dont say negative things about them they all have potential to be anything they want except Marco's opportunity was taken. Love u guys!

I know the alledged shooter myles. he used to hang out with my cousins. this kid is a troubled teen and needs help. his family didnt give any care about him he was constantly running the streets. as far as the three boys go, i dont know them never got the chance to meet them, but i hope the one that was killed rests in peace. and that the other two pull through. society is soft on kids now days, my mom and dad would spank my brother and myself if we did wrong, my brother is in the AF and i am a college student both of us have clean records, because of the DISCIPLINE our parents gave us. weed is not a drug its simply a plant, yes the thc has side effects but nothing worse than coke or heroine. I am a mommy of 2 beautiful kids, and I cant even begin to imagine the pain the families are going through. My great grandpa used to tell me DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER... These teens could have been good kids, just wrong place at the wrong time. May the families find peace and comfort

I think its stupid that because of something like this people forget to focus on the reason it happened. A DRUG DEAL. Live by the sword and die by the sword. Its so easy to be sympathetic in a time like this but they did it to themselves. However, THIS is exactly why pot SHOULD be legal. Legalize it and you wont be reading about 16yr old kids murdering people over it. Let me emphasize. A 16 YEAR OLD KID, KILLED A MAN, AND TRIED TO DELIVER THE SAME FATE TO THE OTHER TWO OVER A LITTLE POT. We can stop these senseless killings very easily, legalize marijuana!

Here's some food for thought for the people leaving hateful comments... "Anyway, no drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we're looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn't test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power." ~P.J. O'Rourke

This is such a sad, sad tragedy. Not only did one boy lose his life, but 2 others are hurt and the boy that shot them...Im sure his family is suffering as well. There are alot of people affected by this. Buying drugs or not...no one deserves to die because of it. Not one life is more valuable than another. It was weed, it wasnt coke, and it wasnt herione. Weed is becoming more mainstream than you would think, and whether you like it or not...our youth are doing it. Not all of them are "bad kids" or "thugs" just because they smoke. You people that are leaving hateful comments are pathetic and ignorant. You must not have anything better to do with your lame life than sit behind a computer bashing on a bunch of kids. Seriously..get over yourself, your opinion doesnt matter. My heart goes out to the Morales family for their loss, and the rest of the families and friends that are suffering.
