A fire on Pueblo’s east side had a happy ending, as minimal structure damage is allowing the family to stay in their home.
The call came in around noon that a one-story home at 1613 E. 2nd St. had a small fire in the basement.
The fire department was able to contain it and put it out, and the family got out without injuries. The cause is still not determined, but is thought to have been due to combustible items sitting too close to the ignition source. The source was likely a water heater or a furnace.
