The U.S. missile defense system is getting beefed up.
The Obama administration announced today it will add 14 missile interceptors to the 30 that are already in place in California and Alaska.
The administration says the move is in response to threats from North Korea to attack the U.S. with nuclear weapons.
U.S. officials say they don't think North Korea has the capability of hitting the U.S. at this point, but the threats add to tension between the two countries.
The missile interceptors allow the U.S. to shoot down missiles while they are still in flight.
