One person is dead and and several others injured after a casino tour bus and two other vehicles collided.
Highway 6 was closed from Highway 119 to Highway 58 until about 12:30 p.m. while State Patrol investigated. That stretch of highway is just west of Golden.
We're told that the driver of a Ford explorer was traveling east on Highway 6 when she crossed the center lane and crashed into the casino bus head-on. That's according to State Patrol.
After hitting the bus, the Explorer was reportedly pushed back into the eastbound lanes where it hit a Chevrolet sedan.
According to our sister station in Denver, the crash happened inside Tunnel 1.
They also report that Colorado State Patrol says the bus was doing the speed limit and hit the wall of the tunnel twice as the impact with the SUV damaged the bus's steering.
Forty casino employees and one driver were reportedly on the Horizon Coach Lines bus.
The driver of the Ford Explorer died at the scene. The driver and passenger of the sedan, as well as several people on the tour bus, were taken to the hospital. One person who was in the sedan is reportedly in serious condition. The others reportedly have injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
The accident happened August 4 just after 6 a.m.
Highway 6 will remain closed until State Patrol finishes their investigation.
