The University of Colorado has no plans to change its ban on a marijuana gathering next April.
University spokesman Bronson Hilliard told the Boulder Daily Camera on Wednesday officials still plan to make sure thousands of pot smokers don't gather on April 20, despite the passage of a statewide measure legalizing marijuana.
The new law bans smoking marijuana in public.
Earlier this year, the university closed the campus to visitors and blocked access to a student gathering place.
Every year, marijuana activists across the nation hold pot-smoking protests on April 20 to demand legalization. The gathering at the University of Colorado in Boulder has become one of the biggest campus protests.
