An Air Force Academy airman is being sentenced to two years behind bars for three violations of the uniform code of military justice.

Tech Sergeant Jeffrey Carlson had pleaded guilty to violating the code for wrongful use and distribution of a controlled substance, and soliciting another person to buy a controlled substance.

Carlson will also receive a dishonorable discharge.

Officials say Carlson's rank has been reduced, and he will have to forfeit pay and allowances.
