Lamar Woman Has West Nile

The Prowers County Health Department announced a 44-year-old woman from Lamar has West Nile Virus.

It is the first human case of West Nile in Prowers County.

The woman is recovering from a mild case of the disease.

According to the health department, mosquito pools in Lamar have tested positive for West Nile. They are encouraging Colorado residents to be cautious when spending time outdoors.
