Residents of the Carter Lake area near Berthoud are being asked to reduce water use cleanup of an explosion at a water pumping station continues.

No one was seriously injured in the explosion Friday morning, which apparently involved chlorine.

Other stations on the system were maintaining the water's quality.

Some area roads were closed and some residents evacuated voluntarily.

Debra Graves of the Berthoud Fire District said it was not known how much chlorine leaked into the atmosphere.
