Gilpin County sheriff's officials say a skier who fell in the back country on Rollins Pass died from the injuries Sunday.
And another skier was injured in the same area in a separate accident.
County dispatchers received word of the first skier in the Crater Lakes area around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Dispatchers were told around 1:50 p.m. that the victim died from injuries of the fall.
Minutes later, dispatchers were called on the second skier, who was unable to walk and was believed to have suffered broken bones.
Sheriff's officials say both victims were skiing with groups.
Their identities were not immediately released.
