A wildfire near Rulison has destroyed at least three structures, including one house.
KCNC TV said the fire was burning in grass, sage brush and pinon-juniper with at least 200 firefighters on the lines.
A tanker was making drops.
No injuries were reported.
Lee Martens of the Rifle Fire Protection District said the blaze appeared to have moved at least two miles, but no size estimate was available.
A red flag warning is in effect in Western Colorado because of the dry conditions and high temperatures.
