The family of a six-year-old Minnesota girl is reporting that the girl was seriously injured when she sat over an open drain hole in a wading pool.
According to the family, six-year-old Abigail Taylor was injured last week when the drain's powerful suction tore out part of her intestinal tract.
A family lawyer tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper that doctors had to remove the part of her intestines that remained. The girl is still hospitalized -- and at last word, her condition was serious.
The lawyer says the drain hole at the pool wasn't properly covered, but the general manager at the Minneapolis Golf Club tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press that he doesn't think anything was wrong with the pool.
