Authorities have identified three members of a family killed in a four-vehicle crash last night in Aurora.
Aurora police spokeswoman Detective Shannon Lucy identified the victims as 40-year-old William O'Neil, his 37-year-old wife, Karen, and four-year-old son, Trevor. All were wearing seatbelts.
The O'Neil's son, Tyler, age two-and-a-half, was taken to Children's Hospital and is in fair condition. Passers-by had to pluck him from the wreckage.
The crash is being investigated. No charges have been filed.
Police said the accident began when a northbound tow truck (on Chambers Road) drifted into southbound traffic about 11 p.m. and clipped a Honda SUV.
The truck then struck a Chrysler, in which the three victims were traveling, plus a Nissan Pathfinder.
