Westbound Interstate 70 was closed for most of Tuesday morning from Byers to Deer Trail after a crash that left one person dead.

The crash occurred early Tuesday when the driver of a truck carrying floor care products slammed into the back of another that was hauling meat.

Helicopter pictures from the scene showed the first trailer and its cab completely destroyed by the fire, to the extent that the cab melted to the ground.

The trailer was still smoldering several hours after the crash.

There's no word on the identities of the drivers.
