Two people were found dead in the Gunnison River near Grand Junction this week. A rescue team leader says one may have gone into the river to save the other.
The body of 37-year-old Linda Louise Johnson was found Monday and the body of 40-year-old Danny Carpenter was found Wednesday.
Mesa County sheriff's investigators say the bodies were about five miles apart.
The Mesa County coroner said yesterday that Carpenter died in an accidental drowning.
