Governor Bill Ritter has made renewable energy a big part of his agenda in his first year in office.

Now he's stepping up with a project of his own. Today workers will install solar panels at the Governor's Residence, where Ritter and his family live.

The panels will be put on the Carriage House section of the residence, which was added to it in 1908 and renovated by former First Lady Frances Owens.

I'm so happy that Colorado, especially Governor Bill Ritter, is up front doing so much for preserving our enviroment! Many years ago I lived in Colorado Springs with my family and we always enjoyed the beautiful landscape, the mountains, the forests. Tanks Mr. Governor!
