Mayor Lionel Rivera has proclaimed Monday, July 20th, the official start of Big Brothers Big Sisters Week in Colorado Springs.

The week's planned activities include a community service clean-up project at Quail Lake Park, a members'-only visit to Peterson Air Force Base, and a contest in which the public can take part.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Pikes Peak, in partnership with Lamar Outdoor Advertising, is adding its new "Be Big" logo to 25 bus benches around Colorado Springs.

The contest asks for people to identify the locations of as many bus benches as they can, and e-mail that information to BBBS by going to www.bebigpikespeak.org. The first person to identify the most locations by the deadline of August 31st wins a $100 gift card to Cinemark Theaters.

The non-profit has established "Be Big" as its new brand, and is this week unveiling a public service announcement as well as the new website. Click on the link to access the site.
