Two students at Lutheran High School had their right hands partially severed during a tug-of-war at a pep rally.
Parker police Lieutenant Sam Realmuto says the pep rally in the gym Friday afternoon was in advance of the homecoming game Saturday.
Senior members of the football team were competing against junior members in the game where teams prove their strength by tugging on opposite ends of rope.
Both injured students were juniors.
Realmuto says it appears it was an accident, though it was unclear how the students were injured.
Their names have not been released.
