The sequester won't stop a beloved tradition after all.

For a time, it was looking like this year's graduating cadets would not get to have a flyover at their commencement ceremony, due to the sequester grounding the Air Force Thunderbirds.

But now two museums, one local and one out of Texas, have stepped in and offered their own aircraft for the May 29 ceremony.

So instead of Thunderbirds, this year's graduating class will enjoy a flyover display by nine World War II warbirds. The aircraft scheduled for the flyover are the following:

• B-25J “Mitchell” medium bomber (2 aircraft)
• P-51D “Mustang” fighter (2 aircraft)
• P47D “Thunderbolt” pursuit/fighter
• FG1D “Corsair” fighter
• P-40K “Warhawk” fighter
• FM2 “Wildcat” fighter
• TBM-3E “Avenger” torpedo bomber

"We are pleased and proud to be able to step in and provide a flyover for the cadets since the sequester prevented the Air Force Thunderbirds from doing so!" National Museum of World War II Aviation volunteer John Henry told 11 News.

Some of the aircraft used in the flyover will be on display at the National Museum of World War II Aviation from May 27-29. That museum is located in Colorado Springs.

The Texas Flying Legends Museum out of Houston is also providing some of the aircraft.
