A Colorado Springs Airman died after physical training at an Arizona Air Force Base.

Master Sgt. Iordanis “Jordan” Velissariou was found unresponsive on Thursday and was taken to a Phoenix-area hospital where the 40-year-old died.

Velissariou was from Colorado Springs and joined the Air Force in 1991. Velissariou was stationed Luke Air Force Base in the Phoenix Suburb of Glendale.

Medical examiners are investigating what caused the death of Velissariou, but have not yet released any findings.

Velissariou was the fleet manager for vehicle maintenance in the 56th Logistics Readiness Squadron. He was transferred to Luke AFB in November of 2009.

Flags at Luke Air Force Base are flying at half-staff Monday in honor of Velissariou.
