Thursday will likely be an unforgettable one for a number of Fort Carson families.
One hundred members of the 576th Engineering Company, 4th Engineer Battalion, will be returning home from a yearlong deployment Thursday evening.
While in Afghanistan, the soldiers performed route clearance operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, clearing nearly 5,600 miles through southwest Afghanistan and disabling more than 30 improvised explosive devices.
The homecoming is currently scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Special Events Center on Fort Carson. This time is subject to change; keep checking kktv.com for any updates.
