Second Cadet Begins Article 32 Hearing

A second cadet accused of sexual misconduct will begin his Article 32 hearing Monday.

Cadet 1st Class Kyle A. Cressy faces charges of aggravated sexual assault. His affidavit states that around May 28, 2011, he engaged in sexual acts, including intercourse, with a "substantially incapacitated" woman.

Cadet 2nd Class Stephan H. Claxton, also facing sexual misconduct allegations, had his hearing last week. Read more here. 11 News has learned that Cressy and Claxton continued to attend class after being charged.

An Article 32 hearing is the military equivalent of a grand jury proceeding. The academy's Superintendent Lt. General Mike Gould will decide if the cases will go to trial.

@Unbelieveable: That's pretty much SOP these days. If military members of the opposite sex party together, end up in bed, and the woman has buyer's remorse afterwards, the man is toast. I don't know what happened at the AFA, and in no way is my post meant to minimize sexual assualts. However, the current DoD sexual assault training is essentially boiled down to 'a woman is not responsible for her actions if she drinks'.

So they were all drinking heavily and now it is the male cadet's fault for having sex? What about the female cadet? She didn't do anything wrong ofcoarse. She is innocent. They were all drunk and it is all the man's fault. BS. Just hand the Air Force Academy over to the female cadet's. They run the show and tell everyone what to do anyway.
