Schriever Air Force Base has a new building for community events, classes, youth programs and other uses.

The 4,900-square-foot temporary building was formally opened this week. Officials hope it can be replaced with a permanent structure in about five years.

Schriever also has a new indoor track for physical fitness tests and other activities.

Schriever is about nine miles east of Colorado Springs. Its units include the 50th Space Wing, which is responsible for the operation of more than 170 Defense Department satellites.

USAF seems to be rolling in the dough! First the millions spent on the solar panels and now a new building and indoor track. HHHMMM! Who is in charge of their budget!?! EVERYONE needs to stop spending unless it is a necessity! Who cares if it was already in the budget...
