WASHINGTON (AP) -- A new Pentagon report reveals that partial remains of some 9-11 victims were sent to a landfill after they could not be identified.

The victims were among those killed when a terrorist-hijacked airplane struck the Pentagon, killing 184, and another crashed in Shanksville, Pa., killing 40.

The report says several portions of remains that could not be tested or identified were given to a bio-medical waste disposal contractor. The contractor incinerated them, then took them to a landfill.

The information was in a report on the military's Dover mortuary, where the practice of putting partial unidentified remains in a landfills was discontinued in 2008.

Sounds like Angie could be a reporter

KKTV reporter, I think you are off on your numbers there. I'm pretty sure that 2 planes crashed into the twin towers killing more than 184 or 6 or whatever you said. Also killing 100's more in the towers and attempting to rescue those in the towers.

They could have made a small memorial to the unknown victims, and buried them there. It wouldnt have had to be as fancy as the Unknown soldiers in Arlington Cemetary...

That's the reason for fancy, military funerals. They make you believe that those people died for some greater, noble reason. They didn't.

So, they sent dust and ahes to a place of rest. The person was dead for goodness sakes, we humans need to understand that we are not as special as we think. We are no better than road kill, deal with it. There is no god, no heaven, no hell, we just die and rot like all else. Life is death after a timeframe.. that just the way it is people. Deal with it and shut up!
