More than 300 soldiers from Fort Carson gathered for a deployment ceremony Tuesday morning. Over the next few weeks, they’ll be heading to Afghanistan to work on the training of the Afghan National Security Forces.
In preparation for their mission, the Security Forces Assistance Teams from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team underwent cultural training for the last three months.
Their deployment ceremony was held at 10:00 Tuesday morning in the Special Event Center on Fort Carson. Their mission is scheduled to last nine months.
