Family and friends are gathering Wednesday to honor the life of a Fort Carson solider.
Spc. Daniela Rojas died earlier this month in Germany from a non-combat related illness.
Rojas, a native of Los Angeles, Calif., had only been in the Army a year and a half at the time of her death, but had already served time in Afghanistan. She was in Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom when she fell ill.
Rojas was assigned to the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
The memorial service will be held at Soldier's Memorial Chapel on post beginning at 1 p.m.
